Joe Polito sings
Tom Jones & Friends

Joe Polito has been singing and performing since early childhood. Whether singing in his Church or Glee Club, Joe’s powerful voice would always distinguish him from the other members. His early inspirations were Mario Lanza, Jerry Vale, the Beatles, Bobby Rydell, Frankie Avalon, and Elvis Presley.

In the seventies, he was introduced to the sounds of Tom Jones through his mother who enjoyed watching Tom on his television show. Joe also remembers hearing Engelbert Humperdinck back then on the radio and liking his music too. Strong romantic ballads always caught his ear, especially soulful sounds that Joe would hear playing in his High School cafeteria juke box, from the Temptations, The Stylistics, Marvin Gaye, and Otis Redding.

Later, Joe became interested in Neil Diamond’s music, but always fell back on the sounds and performances of Tom Jones, Elvis Presley & eventually Engelbert, which later took precedence for his singing abilities.

Joe has never considered himself to be an impersonator, because each show, although singing in the likeness of Tom Jones, Engelbert or Elvis, he always wants his personality to shine through with his tribute to each of those superstars when he performs for an audience. This unique approach always separates Joe from the impersonators and allows him to add original and other entertainer’s songs that may be well suited for his voice.

Joe has performed for many private parties, corporate functions, as well as several clubs in Delaware, Maryland, PA & NJ such as the Tropicana Casino’s Market Place, Atlantic City, NJ, Phat Daddy’s in Elkton, MD, Seamus Mulligan’s in Kennett Square, PA, and The Flying W Airport Resort, in Medford NJ. He has also performed two years in a row at Bayonne New Jersey’s Hi-Hat Grand Ballroom, which was a famous night club in the fifties and sixties.

Joe has entertained large audiences at The Three Little Bakers Dinner Theater in Wilmington, Delaware for over one thousand people two years in a row along with other large venues and has shared the stage with the very popular legendary groups, Danny & The Juniors, and The Dovells. Joe was also the opening act for The Duprees and Johnny Maestro and The Brooklyn Bridge!

Joe’s latest introduction to other venues and larger crowds was his opening act more than several times for the legendary Doug Church, The Voice of Elvis. Doug who has toured the world is considered by many as the best Elvis tribute artist in the business today. Joe is also proud to have worked with good friend, Tom Sadge, whose Neil Diamond impersonation is absolutely incredible and who tours Europe, the U.S and Canada!

Joe has worked with his very good friend, the famous comic/ventriloquist, Pete Michaels on many occasions and what a phenomenal combination it is when those two put on a show together!

The meeting of a lifetime occurred July 21, 2002 outside Resorts Casino in Atlantic City, NJ where Joe told Tom Jones he was singing his songs. Joe Polito’s visual performance, as well as vocal, has audiences everywhere longing for the days of Tom Jones & Engelbert Humperdinck wooing their fans.
