'A Sicilian Tale' is an Independent Film featuring Joe Polito, Vinny Vella, Sal Darigo, James Bagnell, Artie Pasquale, Elaine Del Valle, Joey Eye, Tisha Tinsman. They are a vast combination of actors from Philly to New York, some of which have appeared in The Soprano's, the motion pictures, 'Casino', 'Analyze This', 'Donnie Brasco' and more! This film has been accepted to the huge NY International Independent Film Festival and the screening of 'A Sicilian Tale' is on March 23rd, at 8:00 PM in New York. Congratulations!

The film "A Sicilain Tale" that I had the pleasure to work on as a crew member for 10 months has been selected by the NY International Indie Film & Video Festival. This was a great experience to work with some very talented people both in front of an behind the camera. Actors, vocalists, composers, directors were all amazing. Those who attended the Sneak Preview Party last October at the Savoy in Pennsauken, NJ can attest to the talent involved.

We will be traveling by mini-bus/limo to NY on March 23rd for the premiere screening of the film. From what I'm told there is an event on Friday, March 20 (big producers networking meeting with reps from Sony, Miramar, etc.) and then the actual screening on Monday, March 23. We will probably be attending both.

Anyone that worked on the film or anyone who would just like to attend is welcome. Our buddy James Bagnell has posted it on Facebook where you can see the trailers, teasers and plenty more. Check it out. Visit www.nyfilmvideo.com for tickets & info

Here is the notice to Frank Lisi accepting his film:
Dear Mr. Lisi, CONGRATULATIONS! We are delighted that your film "A SICILIAN TALE" has been officially selected as a finalist for exhibition in the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival- March 2009 in New York City. The selection panel has given you EXCELLENT reviews overall. Shot on video and has a pretty quality look. Production design and look work well with plenty of different locations to break picture up visually. A must see film! Demo Recording with Bobby Eli in Studio E
Saturday, March 24th

Joe just finished recording an original song called, "Another Place In Time," which was written by songwriter/musician/entertainer, Joe Staffieri. (Remember his name. His songs are destined for the major charts!)

Joe Polito was blessed to record this original song in a studio owned by legendary Philly record producer/songwriter, Bobbi Eli. Bobby produced this song for Staffieri and engineered the entire production.

Talk about added pressure, international legendary recording artist Len Barry, (colossal hits as "1–2–3" and "Like A Baby") was in the studio that day visiting his good friend, Bobby Eli and he too was involved in a project with Eli. Joe had to be at his best to record in front of the great, Len Barry and according to Len, after the recording session he told Joe that he was glad he was there to hear that great song and the voice that captured exactly how it was intended to be sung when it was written 20 years ago.

Everyone in the room were moved by the combination of the song writing, and vocals and just how it was all put together with the engineering magic of the master, Bobby Eli.

It would take almost a novel to mention all of Bobby’s accomplishments, but here is just some of his them.

On the 'After The Lovin' album in 1976 that was solely responsible for Engelbert Humperdinck's comeback, a number of Bobby Eli's songs were on that album, such as, "This Is What You Mean To Me" and "World Without Music." Bobby wrote/produced and then recorded those songs with Engelbert at the famed recording studio, Sigma Sound in Philly. He also wrote the songs, "Love Won't Let Me Wait" for Major Harris and "Side Show," the huge hit for Blue Magic! Bobby also worked along side Dionne Warwick, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Patti LaBelle and on and on!

More recently, Eli completed a project with Deneice Williams. Her brand new CD was produced on both the East & West coasts by Bobby (which by the way when on the West coast, Stevie Wonder was in the studio providing backup on the harmonica) and will be available in all the audio stores very soon!

We think Joe Polito & Joe Staffieri are in good hands. Don't you??

JP Entertainment Presents:
A Valentine's Evening Of Legends
Swan Caterer's Waterfall Room
South Philadelphia, PA
Friday, February 16th, 2007

The The sign on the ticket window said, 'SOLD OUT' and it was sold out for weeks before the show! The ice and bad weather did not stop the 250 people that filled the banquet room from coming out to witness a piece of history from the days of Palumbo's, The Latin Casino & The 500 Club!

It was a night reliving the days when Tom Jones, Engelbert Humperdinck, Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, Louie Prima & Keely Smith graced those legendary supper clubs back in the 50's through the 80's with class & dignity and of course, stellar performances.

Hosting the event was legendary recording artist & songwriter, Billy Carlucci, and the Co-Host was DJ, Dancin' Dan, (Danny Walsh), both of who are close friends of Joe Polito.

The Joe Staffieri Band featuring Michelle Clifford opened the show with her beautiful vocal talent, complimented by Joe Staffieri himself, adding more vocals to warm up the crowd.

The show's producer, vocalist/entertainer, Joe Polito came out to a beautifully orchestrated introduction to the song, IL Mondo, courtesy of Mr. Staffieri, and that song just catipulted the rest of the evening with songs like, It's Not Unusual, Still, After The Lovin', She's A Lady, Hard To Handle, Delilah and the segment closer, Kiss!

Robert Cabella and Johnny Bones just wowed the crowd as Martin & Lewis! Cabella's smooth Dino voice mesmerized the crowd while Bones' Jerry Lewis had them hysterical and in total stitches!!!

Closing the show for the evening was the very talented, Tom Pizzi along with the very beautiful, golden voice of Patricia Durante, and The Wildness performing those zany songs of Louie Prima and the romantic ballads of Keely Smith! Needless to say, the high energy and incredible vocal talent just blew the audience away!

Special thanks to very good longtime friend, Jimmy Dadario for handling the ticket sales, and to Alice and Charlotte for making sure the seating arrangements for the crowd were done with perfection and also to Carmen Daquilante, owner of the legendary Swan Caterer's in South Philly for a food spread that no one could ever match!

The food was so good it got as much attention as the show. And that's saying something!

"An Evening Of Legends"
Townsend Room/Union Local #5
and P & P Caterers Banquet Facility
Northeast Philadelphia, PA
Sunday, November 19th, 2006

What a total success!!! JP Entertainment, (Joe Polito), and John Cipparone, (Johnny Bones) put together a show and achieved for the audience of almost 300 people, an excellent representation of what it was like when Palumbo's in South Philly, The Latin Casino in Cherry Hill, NJ and The 500 Club in Atlantic City ruled the east coast in true night club entertainment!

Also, a special thanks goes out to the Northeast Times staff writer, Tom Waring, who on November 9th, gave the show a TWO PAGE feature story!

Tom Pizzi, Patricia Durante & The Wildness opened the show and got the crowd's adrenaline pumping with their zany, wild Louie Prima Show, and the band was HOT! They were all fabulous!

Then, surprise entertainer/song writer, Billy Carlucci of Billy & The Essentials brought back memories with two songs and at the same time he showed the audience how versatile he is! It doesn't get any better than that!!!

Robert Cabella & Johnny Bones had the audience in stitches, as promised, with their Dean Martin/ Jerry Lewis act. The audience got to hear Robert sing seriously as well with his Dean Martin rendition, and it was as close to Dino's voice as anyone can come! Bones high energy was non-stop with antics that had the crowd trying to catch their breath from laughing so hard, especially with his Elvis "Lewis" act! Bones was hystertically hilarious!

Joe ended the performance with his show band, and of course the musicians were dead-on, and again had many compliments after the evening came to a close. He wooed his audience with romantic ballads, handing out single roses, but not without a kiss from the ladies! His hips were swiveling throughout those high energy songs like, 'She's A Lady', 'It's Not Unusual', 'Kiss'& 'Resurrection Shuffle', then, held them captive to songs like, 'Still', 'Love Me With All Of Your Heart', 'Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You', 'After The Lovin', and then, a beautiful Engelbert Medley!

To sum everything up, one person said, "The best show I've ever seen!"

Amici Della Lingua Italiana
at Milano Modo by Lamberti's Ristorante
Mount Holly, NJ
Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

What an enjoyable night for Joe! Great Italian food, good wine, and wonderful people of the Amici Della Lingua Italiana, with many thanks to Vito Finizio for inviting Joe to this amazing event.

The club was formed in 1996 by a small group of Italian-Americans through the efforts of founding President, Joe Paglione. This organization started with 20 original members and has grown to almost 400 members!

Joe was proud to share his Italian heritage with these wonderful Italian-Americans, who made Joe a part of their 'family', and before starting off the show, he sang his version of the Dean Martin song, 'That's Amore', then when the show started, it was, 'It's Not Unusual', 'Delilah', 'You Can Leave Your Hat On', just to mention a few!

Special thanks to Vito Finizio, President, Bruno LaMarca, Vice President, Joe Iskander, Treasurer, Carole Bertotti, Secretary, and the Trustees, Domenico Coceano, Sister Carmela Cristiano, SC, Anna LaMarca and Joe Paglione, Founder.

Joe was told, "You will be back!" Well, you can count on it, Vito!

Lighthouse Pointe Restaurant
Springfield, PA
Sunday, June 11th, 2006

This was Joe's first performance at this beautiful Restaurant which is on the bay side of Wildwood, NJ.

Joe put on two shows for the crowd and at the end of the evening, Joe Spuhler, the owner of this fantastic establishment, was complimented several times from people who thanked him for finding Joe Polito and making him a part of The Lighthouse Pointe entertainment!

This beautiful restaurant, with its spacious Outdoor Deck is well known for its incredible food and great entertainment, and the crowd certainly received both on this early summer evening.

Many thanks to Joe Spuhler for bringing Joe in to perform for this well receptive crowd, and also to the restaurant's DJ, Bee Bop Bernie, who did an incredible job running the sound for 'The Voice'.

Part of the large crowd was the Windthorst Group from the Port Richmond section of Philly who was totally surprised with the caliber of entertainment they witnessed, and topped off with a delicious meal!

Joe will be back, Sunday, July 2nd, with his Las Vegas Show Band, for 4th of July Weekend and another incredible two show event!

The Springfield Inn
Springfield, PA
Sunday, April 30th, 2006

It was two years since he last performed here, but with new songs and a radio promoted show with Mark The Spark, Mickey Dee and Dancin' Dan from Cruisin' 92.1 FM's Sunday Night Jam Show, it was a whole new experience for this popular restaurant and lounge.

Old friends, relatives, and new fans enjoyed a show with Joe and The Band, and the compliments and accolades were flying after the show. Even the bartenders were amazed with how much sound comes from a group of four musicians!

Good friend Mario Rocco helped Joe out by opening the show and did that crowd respond to his performance! His Motown and other renditions brought much applause as Mario worked his magic!

Joe sang twenty one songs, and as usual, brought the crowd to several standing ovations. With the energy of his band, they played as if there were eight instead of four musicians.

Friends of past and present were on hand to support Joe at this well known establishment and everyone got their money's worth.

Dancin' Dan controlled the audio for Joe and he gave just the right mix so the audience could enjoy a show that they couldn't stop talking about! Thanks Danny, and thanks to Mickey Dee and Mark The Spark for the promotion!

The Mummer's Museum
South Philadelphia, PA
Saturday, April 1st, 2006

Pete and Joe were invited back for a second time to woo this audience and wooed they were!!

Joe came out singing strong even from back to back shows and he gave this Mummer's crowd nothing less than terrific and proved why he and Pete were brought back from their previous show from almost two years ago.

From 'It's Not Unusual' to The Commodore's 'Still', then 'After The Lovin', and 'She's A Lady', the hit songs kept coming, one after another, and the crowd responded with loud applause.

When good friend Pete Michaels hit the stage, he continued to pump them up as he introduced his new puppet, Krelmin, an alien from another planet!! What a hit for Pete who created this new character. The audience went wild and the laughs were non-stop!

And of course Pete had to close the show with his Sonny & Cher puppet heads with a male and female member from the audience who participated in wearing them!! Check out the photos and you'll see what we mean!

Pete Michaels is by far the best comic/ventriloquist in the business today!

Botto's Restaurant
Swedesboro, NJ
Friday, March 31st, 2006

Many, many thanks go out to the people who put together what many consider Joe and The Band's best show ever!!

First and foremost, kudos to Ed Teodozow for providing full stage lighting and who also handled the sound for the vocals. Ed gave the dinner show a spectacular touch that created the illusion of being in Las Vegas. Great job Ed!!

Victoria Kostiak did double duty, not only operating the follow spot light, but also handed the roses to Joe as well, at which point, Ed would jump on the follow spot.

To Bob Botto, and Robert Botto and to their manager, Ken, and the rest of the staff for making this show happen, and providing their beautiful banquet facility that housed this incredible event. The food! What an experience that was! A four course meal followed by a Las Vegas style show!

Joe put on an incredible first set which he surprised the audience who were not expecting such top first class entertainment. Before he left the stage for his first set, Joe asked the crowd not to go too far because he had two surprise guests for them.

Sonny Averona Jr. and Johnny Bones, put on a show for this revved up audience that was every bit as good as Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. The photos will tell the story.

Much thanks to Sonny Averona Jr. who is a polished, first rate entertainer whose smooth voice masters the sounds of Sinatra and Dean Martin. Johnny Bones who does the best Jerry Lewis in the world, bar none, was in spectacular form as well.

Joe closed the show with his second set and had the audience in awe… that by the end of the performance, people who had seen him for the first time waited around just to say thanks and say they had no idea the show would be this good and that they were blown away by the incredible BAND!

The Philadelphia Academy Charter School
Northeast Philadelphia, PA
Torresdale - Frankford Country Club
Friday, January 20th, 2006

Over two hundred guests, mostly teachers and administrators enjoyed themselves and were pleasantly surprised with all the talent that showed up for their party in this very beautiful country club with much historical charm and character. Mario Rocco pulled together an A-Team worth of talent which was nothing less than spectacular!

The Emeralds, a very talented group of entertainers who have shared the stage with the likes of Tony Orlando and Johnny Maestro, brought back memories to the days when Doo-Wop was sung on almost every street corner of South Philly. What perfect blend of harmony these five incredible vocalists put together for the audience.

Mario who is a master of vocalist impressions and crowd participation, wowed the crowd as he would pick on audience members to dance…and in costume! He certainly warmed the crowd up because when Joe finally came on for his set, the crowd was wild and we mean wild for entertainment.

Joe not only gave the crowd a memorable show, but they responded back with a few surprises of their own. A very feisty crowd where the men and women came to party and as you can tell by the photos in the Galleries page, Joe almost met his match!!

Another great night of high energy and romantic songs that gave the crowd a very surprising conclusion to their evening which was already full of first class entertainment.

The Elk's Lodge
Salisbury, MD
Saturday, January 14th, 2006

Elk's members from several states gathered at the beautiful Elk's Lodge in Salisbury, MD where Joe was greeted as if he was royalty!

So what better way for him to respond than to give the packed house a show that they will be talking about for a long time!

Many thanks to Mario Rocco, who first introduced Joe to the local Salisbury Elks back in September of 2005. Word spread after that first meeting which prompted this show and encouraged members from other lodges to travel up to six hours by car!! He had no choice but to give them their money's worth!

With great audio engineering from Ed Teodozow, the audience was treated to a great blend of music and vocals from the man with The Voice.

Working the crowd from the opening number right to the last song, he brought much laughs and applause because no one was excluded from the entertainment. In fact, a standing O at the end of the show brought cheers of, 'More… more!'

After the performance, one Elks official after another approached the vocalist/entertainer with ideas of how he could perform for them at their local lodge. With all those recommendations, he may get booked for the rest of the year just by the Elks!

Thanks again to all those responsible for having Joe bring his show 'On The Road' !
